Evaluation of Stylohyoid Complex Patterns on Digital Panoramic Radiographs in the Local Population in Ilam, Iran

Background: Stylohyoid ligament ossification is a complication that repeatedly and accidentally observed on panoramic radiographs may be the cause of some symptoms. Accordingly, awareness this incidence enables clinicians in accurate diagnosis head neck pains while avoiding unneeded therapy. Methods: This was descriptive cross-sectional study. The number samples 196 people who referred to an oral maxillofacial radiology center Ilam 2020. Information completed by checklist which consisted two parts, including questionnaire (age, gender, history trauma, surgery, pregnancy) second part (including stylohyoid complex, its length, involved side, process category according Langlais classification).
